Artist-friendly AR production backed by 30+ years of interactive media
Look Ahead Labs is led by Mike Peredo, an animation, game development, VR, and AR specialist with more than 30 years across production and education.
The studio focuses on augmented reality experiences for public art, cultural spaces, tourism, festivals, and artist-led interactive projects. Mike has worked across animation, game development, VR, AR, and training, with teaching experience at institutions including VFS, VanArts, and UBC.
Look Ahead Labs brings that mix of creative production, technical execution, and educational clarity to every project: city-wide public art activations, tourism campaigns, artist collaborations, and Emmy-nominated interactive media.
Why AR for public art
Public art already stops people on the street. AR gives the artwork a second layer: motion, story, and interaction that live in the viewer’s own hands without touching the physical piece.
How we work with artists
The artwork leads. We prototype early, review together often, and make the technology serve the artist’s intent rather than flatten it into an effect.
Technical capabilities
8th Wall browser-based WebAR, custom mobile apps with Unity and AR Foundation, 3D modeling and animation, and the deployment work that makes AR reliable outdoors.
Teaching background
Decades of training experience at VFS, VanArts, and UBC inform how we run workshops and how clearly we hand projects off.
